      Description

In testing it was discovered that reopening the RWStore is taking an unreasonable time.

Need to find out what's taking so long and fix it!

        The explanation is twofold.

The RWStore close takes longer because after several allocation requests, several allocation blocks are reserved, quickly extending the file size. This results in a 200M RWStore file compared with a 10M Worm file in the tests.

The cost of closing an extended file seems OS dependent, with Mac OSX taking significantly longer than Centos.

It appears there remain no grounds for concern that simply re-opening a file is a performance issue with the RWStore.
