      Description

This ticket is to test and provide documentation on migrating journals between the pre-openrdf 2.8 versions (RDF 1.0 => RDF 1.1).

This is a mandatory migration. The root cause is that both xsd:string literals and plain text literals without a datatype are now considered to be "the same" by RDF 1.1. To support this, both are now stored in the database without the xsd:string datatype URI. If a user migrates to the blazegraph 2.2 release, they MUST fix any existing ID2TERM / TERM2ID mapping for the xsd:string version of the literal since otherwise there would be two distinct IVs for what will be the same literal after rolling forward onto blazegraph 2.2. This would cause a data inconsistency. The fix must ensure that the version of the Literal exists without the xsd:string datatype URI in the lexicon indices (TERM2ID, ID2TERM, and BLOBS) and also update any statements in the statement indices to use the new IV.

There is a class ConvertToPlainLiterals to support this conversion. This class has a main method that will perform this data migration.

This needs more work. Either we fix this or we tell people to do import/export.
